Description

Aconitum cammarum                (Monkshood, Wolf’s-bane)

Sun / Part Sun                     Zones: 4 – 8

Habit: upright / tall                  H: 40″  x  W: 18 – 24″

A color variation of the more familiar Blue Monkshood, which is rarely seen in gardens! This Monkshood forms an upright clump of deeply-cut green leaves, bearing spikes of blue-edged white flowers in summer. All parts of this plant are toxic to humans, cats, dogs, and horses. Blooms mid to late summer.

Cultivation: Best grown in moist, organically rich, well-drained soils in part shade. Can tolerate more sun in cooler areas; soil must not be allowed to dry out. Cut back stems after flowering to encourage an additional bloom.

Utilization: Thrives in part sun perennial or wildflower gardens. Great cut flower.
