‘Millenium’ is a hybrid ornamental onion developed by allium breeder Mark McDonough. The large, sphere-shaped, purple flower clusters typically bloom from mid to late summer (July – August). The flowers are suitable for fresh cut arrangements but this allium is not used for culinary purposes.

Cultivation: Prefers strong sun but grows well in part sun. Tolerates a wide range of soils. Performs well in sandy soils. Add compost to clay soils, as needed, to improve drainage. Water only when thoroughly dry to help the plant get established its first season. Divide in the spring or early fall. If self-sowing is not wanted, dead-head after flowering.

Utilization: A striking accent for mixed borders and cottage gardens. Lovely along driveways and walkways!
