‘Storm Cloud’ features near black stems in spring clad with silver-veined dark green leaves. Leaves lighten to olive green by summer. Light periwinkle-blue, star-shaped flowers bloom abundantly from late spring to early summer, often with some reblooming later. Deer resistant!
Cultivation: Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, loamy soils. Tolerates some drought. When grown in full sun, plants often require no pruning or staking.
Utilization: Great for mass plantings in informal settings such as native plant gardens or open woodland areas. A great focal point in mixed perennial beds in early summer!
