Blooms for a long period in early spring, producing double flowers in contrasting shades of red and white.
Cultivation: Wide range of soil tolerance as long as drainage is good. Prefers rich, moist soils in shade. Remove spent flowers to encourage additional blooming.
Utilization: Borders, cottage gardens, open shade gardens, woodland gardens or naturalized areas. Also a good selection for a hummingbird garden.
