Description
PLANT: Fanal’ is noted for having perhaps the darkest red flowers of any of the astilbes and for its bronze foliage. Foliage emerges bronze but tends to turn dark green with a reddish tint as the summer progresses.
CULTIVATION: Performs best in cooler, shady areas. Average to fertile, moist soil. Divide every 4-5 years in spring.
UTILIZATION: Front to mid-garden groupings, woodland edge. Mix with other astilbe colors, alchemilla and columbine.
