Blueberry – Northland

Description

Zone: 4-7     (3-4′ H x 3-4′ W)

This cultivar was hybridized to adapt to northern Michigan. Fruit size is small, dark blue and has a wild berry flavor. Mature plants are 3-4 feet. ‘Northland’ has limber branches which do not break under heavy snow loads and adapts well to the sub zero climate. Great for ornamental use. Low stature and spreading growth habit make it an attractive landscape plant. Foliage is beautiful throughout the growing season. Blueberries prefer a more acidic soil type, and should be fertilized regularly during its fruit production for highest yeilds. Acidic fertilizers are prefered for soils with high PH (more basic soils), and fertilizer spikes can be used as well, see product info for more specifics.
