Chives – Onion (Purly Chives)
$4.99
Description
Full Sun Zone: 2 – 9
H: 12” x W: spreading
Cultivated in Europe since the Middle Ages, these chives boast medium-sized, straight, upright leaves which can be enjoyed fresh or dried. Flavor is of mild, sweet onion. ‘Purly’ has a more upright plant habit with a slightly straighter leaf. The flowers are edible, and florets can be pulled apart and sprinkled on salads, soups, pizzas, and added to sauces. Plants grow 12 – 18” tall. Harvest the leaves 3 – 4 times per year before flowering by cutting back to the ground level; continually harvesting small amounts works as well. A must have for the perennial culinary herb garden.
Size: 3.25″ premium pot
