Description

Super-sized mophead blooms!

Bigleaf hydrangeas (Hydrangea macrophylla) often leave gardeners feeling out of step with unreliable blooms and weak coloring. Don€šÃ„ôt settle for the same old song. Let€šÃ„ôs Dance Big Easy® reblooming hydrangea bursts on to the floor with oversized mophead blooms that emerge green, then turn pink, and often turning green again. Soil pH will affect bloom color, with purple or blue tones in more acidic soil. Its compact habit reaches a tidy 2-3€šÃ„ô, so pruning isn€šÃ„ôt a problem. Each plant is a real workhorse: the Let€šÃ„ôs Dance series sets buds on old wood like traditional bigleaf hydrangeas and again on new wood, giving a second flush of blooms. Let€šÃ„ôs Dance Big Easy is hardy to zone 5 and prefers full sun or part shade.

Uses Notes

Great landscape plant adds a dash of bright color to gardens. Good in groupings or masses, in a perennial or shrub borders. Can also be used in mixed containers and as a cut flower. Container plants should be planted in the ground in fall.

Maintenance

This hydrangea blooms on both old and new wood. Pruning is generally not needed, but it may be trimmed lightly after the early bloom. Best in moist, well-drained soils. Supplemental moisture may be needed in very hot or dry conditions. Fertilize in spring with a controlled release fertilizer. Add aluminum sulfate to the soil to encourage blue flower color.
