Panicum virgatum x ‘Northwind’ (Upright Switch Grass)

Description

PLANT: A dependable upright habit and beautiful blue green foliage set this 

Panicum  apart from other switch grasses.  Panicum virgatum ‘Northwind’ is extremely drought tolerant, but soil that is occasionally boggy does not bother it.  Panicum virgatum ‘Northwind’ took the spotlight in 2014 as Perennial Plant of the Year^© awarded by the Perennial Plant Association. Performs well in a wide range of growing climates.

 CULTIVATION: It adapts easily to a wide range of soil and moisture conditions as long as full sun is provided.

 UTILIZATION: Erosion Control, Mass Planting, Rock Garden,  Wildlife Garden
