A striking climber bearing large, deeply cupped, bright crimson-red blooms, with a pleasing Old Rose fragrance. It is a relatively compact climber clothed in large, dark green leaves.  A beautiful climber, this David Austin rose is a wonderful addition to a trellised or fenced garden. A true classic statement piece for any rose lover!  It does not like to have wet foliage, so water thuroughly and regularly from the sides. Plant in compost rich soil. Fertilize in Spring and Summer with Rose 3 in 1 for ideal growth and blooms. Does not require deadheading, especially if fertilized. In Wisconsin winters, it is best to mulch the base of the rose before winter. Do not prune back the canes before winter, but wait until the first flush of spring can be seen in the canes and prune away the dead canes, while leaving the living ones in place.
