Sage – Pineapple

Description

Pineapple Sage is an elegant addition to the herb garden with its tall, golden-green foliage and late summer scarlet blooms. If the leaves are crushed they give off a refreshing, fruity aroma, giving the plant its name. This fast growing sage is part of the mint family and in cool regions it lasts deep into the fall.   Both the leaves and the flowers of this sage are edible. Hummingbirds love the tall spires of fluted red flowers. Pineapple sage can be grown in garden beds or containers which can be overwintered easily indoors.
