Water Needs: Tomato plants need consistent watering in order to avoid split fruit – water whenever the soil is dry; in the full heat of summer, they will probably need water daily. Fertilize with Tomato Food every two weeks for best results. Do not get the foliage wet, water from the base. We highly recommend that you put weed barrier or mulch around the base of your tomatoes (when planted in the ground) in order to avoid dirt splashing up onto the leaves, which can lead to disease.
It’s bigger and it’s better! One of the world’s largest beefsteaks, SteakHouse consistently tips the scales at up to 3 lb., and it produces high yields. The broad-shouldered tomatoes are loaded with rich tomato flavor and wonderful fragrance. Due to large plant and tomato size, support is required.
