Water Needs: Tomato plants need consistent watering in order to avoid split fruit – water whenever the soil is dry; in the full heat of summer, they will probably need water daily. Fertilize with Tomato Food every two weeks for best results. Do not get the foliage wet, water from the base. We highly recommend that you put weed barrier or mulch around the base of your tomatoes (when planted in the ground) in order to avoid dirt splashing up onto the leaves, which can lead to disease.
The best-known paste tomato! Easy-to-care-for, prolific plants provide loads of long, blocky tomatoes that mature with a small seed cavity that can be scooped out, leaving all meat. This means much less boiling is needed to get a first-class paste. The shape is also good for canning, and excellent for drying. This early Roma tomato is a sweet, classic Italian paste variety. Very productive and high yielding. Fruit are around 3.5” long and are around 5 oz.
