French Tarragon has an appealing flavor similar to sweet anise and licorice. A fast-growing plant in containers or in herb gardens, Tarragon features upright, slender, silver-green leaves and a distinct, appealing fragrance. The fresh leaves are noted for their use in French cuisine. Use fresh or dried to flavor fish, meats, vegetables, eggs, salads and sauces. This plant prefers sandier, poor-quality soil and should be allowed to dry between waterings. Lasts well into the fall for a prolonged harvest window.
