CENTAUREA macrocephala (Bachelor Button)

Description

A large genus in the daisy family. Only a small number are suitable for the garden; they are quite different from each other. All are easy to grow and are fairly pest free. Every variety of centaurea that we have seen is decorative when in bud. They cut well. chrome yellow ESU-MSU 32”H x 20”W

Yellow Hardhead from the Caucasus Mountains. The roundish flower is similar to that of a thistle. The light green leaves have a silvery underside. Deadhead immediately after flowering to promote rebloom.
